Still waiting for Prof. Marjorie Evasco's translation in English. Hopefully she could squeeze out some time to do it and give me the copy next month. In which case, this translation that I made for two people who will translate "Sa Pagitan Natin" into Arabic and Norwegian will be deleted.

In Between Us

As the darkness envelop us

you asked me, the me inside of me

why the leaves sway

why the rocks cry

why a kiss is sweet

why my embraces are warm

why you find that your arms

are tethered to my arms

why occurrences occur

and the existence of things exist

based from their willingness, and not ours

why daybreak is fearless

and why it rained when I left.

Your fingers explored

the strands of my hair,

my eyebrows and eyelashes,

the surroundings of my lips

perhaps you will find the answers

to all of these, will read from the contours of my face

how I let go of my fear

that night which added up to a thousand nights

that you are the one whom I fixed my eyes on, not they

and I am the one whom you fixed your eyes on, not any of them.

The existence of things exist

based from their willingness

like this, a thousand ash of doubt

may dance at the crest of our shoulder

and your mind sends pleas to your heart

so the restrained would not be released

so the built walls would not be torn down

even though we see through each other

translucent, to a linked soul.

I am telling you now

that all will be revealed to you when you fall in love.
